Can I get an email
account through YouBuildIt! ?
Yes. Depending on the hosting plan you select, your package will include a preset amount of E-mail addresses so that you can correspond professionally with your customers, prospects and suppliers.
Each email account includes 10 MB of storage space.
Additional email accounts may be purchased for $2/month and includes 10 MB of alloweed disc space.
Additional email disc space may be purchased for $1/month/50 MB of disc space.
I
live outside North America. Can I still use this
service?
Absolutely! Because our system is web-based, it doesn’t matter if you’re from New York or New Delhi, Toronto or Tokyo, London or Los Angeles. The time it takes you to set up your web site and manage it from wherever you are in the world is completely the same.
All YouBuildIt! features are available worldwide as long as you have an Internet connection.
Can
I add web tools like a site search, newsletter
sign-up, survey or product feature area to my
web site?
Yes, yes, yes and yes. With YouBuildIt! these are
considered standard features that are available
to all customers. There are also other tools available
to help you market your web site and drive visitor
interest.
Do I need to
know HTML or any other programming language to
use YouBuildIt! ?
We’ve done all the work for you! Our system
is developed specifically for non-technical people
so you never have to worry about deciphering code
or fumbling with development tools.
If I do know
HTML or basic design and would like to customize
my web site the way I like it, can YouBuildIt! accommodate
me?
Yes. We have made certain tools available for
the advanced users that may want to further customize
their web sites beyond the standard. For example,
customers can change their headers or insert custom
made graphics.
Furthermore, there is also an HTML editor that
allows to enter in your own code. This feature
is recommended for advanced users only.
Can I upload
PDFs, MP3s, images, spreadsheets and word documents
to my YouBuildIt! web site?
Yes. Once you’re an YouBuildIt! customer we
walk you through this extremely simple process.
Of course, you can edit/add/delete items at will
– anytime and from anywhere.
You can upload the following file formats:

At any time you can upgrade your design with
a simple click of a button. This will be especially
useful considering a web site’s life is
usually 2 to 3 years.
Instead of beginning the process all over again,
you simply select a new design (we’re constantly
adding new ones) that suits you and away you go.The
process is quick, easy and painless.

No. We’ve intentionally made our entire
system web-based for a number of reasons:

How do I build
an YouBuildIt! website?
Step-by-step. YouBuildIt! has developed an easy-to-use
system that walks you through the entire process
from start to finish. YouBuildIt! is specifically
tailored for non-technical people so all you have
to do is follow the easy steps we’ve laid
out for you.
More than anything else, we realize that if it’s
not easy for you, it’s not useful. So don’t
worry about being technical.
Everything is web-based, so as long as you have
an Internet connection, you’re in business
– no software to buy, upgrade or install.
How
long will it take me to build a website?
This is completely up to you. On their own, many of our customers have a fully functional web presence together and online within just a few hours. Others have built them over the course of a few weeks or even months. While some of our customers make updates to their web sites on a daily basis, others do so only seasonally. If you only need a few pages then you'll be done very quickly. If are doing e-commerce, then expect to spend more time uploading your products.

If I already
have a web site and would like to maintain the
same design, can I still use YouBuildIt! ?
Yes, you can get in contact us and YouBuildIt! ’s
senior design team will replicate your current
design - and even add some upgraded graphics if
necessary - and then arrange to have it plugged
into our system. In terms of cost, this is usually
looked at on an individual basis as the size and
scope of web sites may vary. We can be reached
for a free estimate.
Do I have to
sign a contract with YouBuildIt! ?
No. But we do require that you agree to our
Member Agreement before signing
up. In this way, there is a clear understanding
between both parties moving forward.
Can I cancel
my YouBuildIt! web site at any time?
Yes. Because you are not signed on to a lengthy
contract of any kind, you are never obligated
to remain an YouBuildIt! customer.
Are
there any additional costs?
No. Generally speaking there are no extra costs
involved with the packages offered by YouBuildIt! .
Extra charges are only applied (voluntarily by
you, the customer) when you add features or additions
beyond what the original package allows for (for
example, extra disk space or Email addresses).
Are
there any hidden costs I should worry about?
Absolutely none! As a company
founded on integrity, we promise that there will
be no surprises once you’ve signed up.
What
do your E-Commerce services include?
Our E-Commerce service is standard with the $29.95 per month and includes the following:
- Online catalogue manager enabling you to quickly
and easily organize your products online
- eBay integration enabling you to post products
on your website directly to eBay auctions
- Image close-ups(so visitors can get a
good look at the product they will be purchasing
and then click on it for a larger view)

What
credit cards can I process?
What types of credit cards you are able to accept
depends on whether you set up through PayPal or
Merchant Account.
PayPal customers can accept:

currencies can I accept?
There are really two options available:
PayPal Customers can choose between:
- U.S. Dollar
- Canadian Dollar
- Pound Sterling (UK

If
I already have an Internet merchant account, can
I use it with your service?
Potentially, you can use our service but would
still be required to set-up a Payment Gateway
through YouBuildIt! in order to process payments over
the Internet.
A great alternative (and more affordable) to
a Merchant Account is to register a PayPal account.
How
will I receive orders from my customers?
In both cases (Merchant Account or PayPal) you
will receive an auto-responder (to the Email address
you specify) immediately notifying you of the
transaction.
It's this simple: you get the auto-responder
and fulfill the order based on the transaction.
Of course, it is your responsibility to respond
fulfill the order.
Can I accept
international orders online using my YouBuildIt! merchant
account?
Yes. Your customer will be billed based on the
currency he/she has decided to pay in (either
US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Pound Sterling,
Euro or Japanese Yen).
The customer’s credit card company will
perform the currency exchange so your customer
will see the amount in his/her countries currency.
Can I use my
own web address (or domain name) with my YouBuildIt!
site, or do I have to use a web address that includes
YouBuildIt! ?
Both options are available to you.
We strongly recommend you use your own domain name (for example, www.yourname.com) as it looks much more professional and will be easier to remember for your customers than the sub domain we create for you to use when you sign up: yourname.youbuildit.net.
Domains may be purchased from within your admin in the Domain Manager section for as low as $13.95 per year.
If you don’t have a domain name however, you can always use the sub domain we create when you sign up i.e. yourname.youbuildit.net.
If I already
have a web site and would like to maintain the
same design, can I still use YouBuildIt! ?
Yes. Depending on what’s required, YouBuildIt! ’s
expert design team can modify your web site or
duplicate it to work with our system. Because
there are so many variables to take into account
we charge an hourly fee based on what is required.
In many cases, our award-winning design team
will actually upgrade your design and improve
its functionality in order to augment your business’
presentation. Before we actually begin work, we
provide you with a firm cost so you can budget
accordingly.
It is also possible to roll this additional cost
into easy-to-manage monthly payments (as opposed
to lump sum fee).
Can I connect/link
my YouBuildIt! web site with another web site?
Absolutely. This is simply called a 'hyperlink',
and you have full control over how many web sites
you link to.
How secure
is my YouBuildIt! account?
No one can access your account except for authorized
YouBuildIt! personnel. Using the same security measures
as online banking, we provide the utmost in security.
Aside from encryption YouBuildIt! also has firewalls
in place as well as redundancy servers.
What security
does YouBuildIt! offer for its E-commerce package?
YouBuildIt! automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of at least 128-bits (the highest level commercially available and used by all major banks).
In fact, our encryption "scrambles" your data into a completely illegible format that cannot be interpreted. Our systems allow for up to 1024-bit encryption.
Will
anyone else be able to access my account details
or data?
No. This information is password protected so
only you know your information. We advise our
customers not to share this information with others
and not to use generic passwords like ‘1234’,
your last name or business name.
Will
my web site always be available to my customers?
Our customers’ web sites are available 99.5% of the time. Because we are constantly improving our service we may temporarily interrupt service for a few seconds while we add the latest upgrade. Of course, we always perform this maintenance during off-peak hours.
